Summer is almost here.

Due to a half day of school we cannot declare summer vacation umtil 11:01 AM today.

This half day thing I find utterly ridiculous. I had to drag my tired and sore bootie up the stairs at 6:30 AM to wake Taylor up just so she could go to school until 11 AM. All this just so the school can get a few dollars. Really what does 4 hours mean… this morning I would rather give the school district money than to do another morning of the get ready for school routine. I am sure all they are doing today is playing. She has already brought home all her work, supplies and who knows what this last week.

I am just so ready to not have to plan my day around school drop offs and pick ups. Having the girls in 2 different schools which start and end at different times is not any fun. We have 1 more year of that.

So far our summer is pretty full. Well June is anyway. Family visits the first 2 weeks of June then to MS to go to Pawpaw and Mimi’s house for a few weeks, see friends in AL and then back to TX at the end of the month. However, the end of July is what we are all waiting for anxiously. For the Swartz’s it will be our first honest and true, for real VACATION! I call it that becuase it will be a week at the beach with great friends, no holiday travel, no family visits or events, no work related travel just plain fun and our only reason to go is for sun, fun and relaxation.
