A tough day

Yesterday was a long and tough day.

When we got to the dentist we waited for 2 hours…her first patient was late and the second had more issues than she expected. So then we go back and that is when Taylor gets scared looking at all the stuff in the room. It was then decided to giver her a shot that would make her unaware of things before trying to get an IV in. I had to hold her embraced face to face sitting in a chair so they could stick her in the back/hip area. She kicked and screamed for several minutes while I had to squeeze her tight…I just cried. The doctors warned me that once the meds kick in she will look disturbing, she would have a blank stare to her and look lifeless. And boy was it…it was really a freaky sight, similar to how she has looked sometimes sleep walking but I saw this up close and in full lights.

Well I laid her on the table and went out to wait. She did great.

About an hour or so later it was time to go back and hold her in my arms as she woke up. (Taylor comes to my arm pit so holding her for any of this was not easy when she was not moving) This time I had to cradle her and she was shivering due to the anesthesia…as time went on she wiggled more and then she really started to wake up she kicked and hit and was very combative. All from how the meds made her feel. But it is still hard to hold your tall 6 year old in your arms while she fights you and screams at you regardless of the reason.

She is back to normal now and can go to school today…the tooth fairy came last night and left her a note and $5. Much more than I ever got. She was thrilled when she woke up!

Yesterday was emotionally rough on me…but we will be doing it all over again after Paris…not with the dentist but the urologist as she has to be sedated for a test there.

Bless your heart! And we thought birthing these babies was painful! Loving them through the “bumps” in life hurts way worse!
